Ao conceber a série Duality, Juca Máximo não buscava apenas criar uma peça de design funcional. Seu propósito era romper com a ideia de que a arte precisa estar confinada a uma moldura. A verdadeira liberdade de uma obra acontece quando ela deixa de depender do espaço que a limita. Duality transforma a obra no próprio espaço — unindo pintura, escultura e design em uma linguagem viva e integrada.
A Duality é a primeira divisória artística do mundo. Uma peça tridimensional que se impõe no centro do ambiente como uma pintura viva — que pode ser atravessada com o olhar, com o corpo e com a consciência. Ela foi apresentada na Bienal de Veneza e representa o paradoxo entre ausência e presença, externo e interno, sombra e luz. É uma obra que se revela em camadas, como o próprio ser.
When conceiving the Duality series, Juca Máximo was not merely aiming to create a functional design piece. His intent was to break away from the idea that art must remain confined within a frame. True artistic freedom emerges when a work no longer depends on the space that limits it. Duality transforms the piece into the space itself — merging painting, sculpture, and design into a living, integrated language.
Duality is the world’s first artistic divider. A three-dimensional piece that stands at the center of a room like a living painting — one that can be crossed by the gaze, the body, and consciousness. Presented at the Venice Biennale, it embodies the paradox between absence and presence, outer and inner, shadow and light. It unfolds in layers, like the self.
在构思《Duality》系列时，Juca Máximo并不仅仅想创作一件功能性的设计作品。他的意图是打破艺术必须被限制在画框中的观念。真正的艺术自由，是作品不再依赖于限制它的空间。《Duality》让作品本身成为空间——将绘画、雕塑与设计融合为一种鲜活而统一的语言。
